Welcome to The POE TWISTED Anthology, a collection of fifteen new comics inspired by the fiction and poetry of Edgar Allan Poe.Don’t call them adaptations: these are new stories, some riffing on the original, some just out and out crazy, but all in tribute to the undisputed, original Dark Master of American gothic and crime fiction. Not Poe–Poe twisted!
Thirteen Poe Folk took up the challenge to create original, short works of comic art inspired by a character or setting from a favorite Poe story. The artists are as diverse as their stories, including a film director, a former scientist, cartoon animators, an award-winning screenwriter, and even a 2011 Eisner nominee!
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be rolling out the digital editions of the stories in the Red Stylo Media store (also on Graphic.ly and DriveThruComics.com), as well as unveiling Limited Edition prints and exclusive art from our Poe-tributors that you will only see online at TwistedPoe.com or on our Facebook page. The stories will be collected into a printed, full color trade paperback, set for release August 21, 2011!
