What happenes when a reality television crew and contestants invade the enchanted forest? Oberon! That’s what! And he has no patience for their “real world” frivolities. It’s time to get some skin in the game, and Oberon knows just the fellow to make things interesting.

The Bard of Avon meets Reality T.V. in “SURVIVING SHAKESPEARE”, inspired by William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”  Containing enough violence, comedy, ye olde English, hapless contestants, fecal-throwing monkeys and William himself, “Surviving Shakespeare” is written by Mitchell Hyman and Andrew Jerz, with art by Shawn Harbin; color and letters by Alex Cormack.

SURVIVING SHAKESPEARE is NOW available to download for just $1.99 in the Red Stylo Media Store! Cover for SurvivingMitchell Hyman is a comic book industry veteran whose work has been recognized and endorsed by such respected industry personalities as George Perez, Green Lantern creator Mart Nodell and The Flash creator Harry Lampert. Mr. Hyman created the acclaimed independent character and eponymous comic book Bubba the Redneck Werewolf, which received solid reviews from diverse print and online publications, including The Chicago Tribune, Wizard Magazine and AintItCool.com. He also gained notoriety for his work on Cracked Magazine, in particular the Donald Trump firing issue.

Andrew Jerz was raised on a Sandy Beach off of Route 3A a few miles south of Boston, USA on the passing tales of glory in a place called Cohasset Town. By trade, he was a butcher – was well learned and well paid, but like the old boardwalks and family-owned hardware stores of his hometown that knelt to progress, his trade’s lost to memory. Andrew has done editorial work for a number of publications mostly headquartered between Springfield, MA and Buffalo, NY at equally spaced intervals along the I-90 corridor (once known as the Mohawk Trail and, at some points, the Erie Canal); he has lived in Boston City with his illustrious Common Sense Advisor, Susan, since the rare old times.

Shawn Harbin is a writer/artist living in Knoxville, Tennessee. He has been featured on the podcasts: In This Issue, Comic Book Related, Nerd Girl’s Eye View, and Pete’s Basement. His current series is mix of mystery, horror, suspense, fantasy and even comedy. The Dungeon Comic has received positives reviews by The Nerd Girls Crew and Knights of the Dinner Table magazine. He has worked as an artist with Amber Love on Holy Oak, and Kevin La Porte on The mini-series Road Kill Dejour.

SHAKESPEARE SHAKEN is a folio of thirty original comic stories and vignettes inspired by the plays, poetry and life of William Shakespeare. This is not Aunt Martha’s dusty longbox of Shakespeare adaptations…Shakespeare SHAKEN, not stirred!
