“Best Friends” is a dark and heavy twist on a Queen’s light ballad to friendship and lasting love, “You’re My Best Friend”. This is the third story in our digital and print collection, KILLER QUEEN, A COMIC ANTHOLOGY inspired by the discography of Queen. Story by Kenneth Whitfield, with art by David Ryan Lompe; letters by Erica Schultz. This story will be included in our print collection, due for release October 8th. The digital version is available to download right now in our online store and features Queen-inspired vignettes from artist CGhirardo, including “I Want Out” and “Seeing One in Many Ways”.

Kenneth Whitfield

Kenneth Whitfield’s credits include the script for My Brother, Myself currently in Red Stylo’s Unfashioned Creatures, a Frankenstein Anthology. He’s also had scripts in Death Rattle (Kitchen Sink Press), Trailer Park of Terror (Imperium Comics) and When Drive-Ins Attack! (Tin Star Press.)

He currently has a prose story in Grey Matter Press’s horror anthology Dark Visions 2. Other prose stories have appeared in Song Story Press’s Dark Side of the Moon, Steamy Screams (Blood Bound Books), and You Can’t Kill Me, I’m Already Dead: A Vampire Anthology from Zombiework Publications. Online he’s got stories in Dark Moon Books’ Dark Eclipse ezine and in Horror Garage.

David Ryan Lompe is an illustrator with a BFA in Studio Art. His day job is as a framer/engraver at a Custom Frame Shop, and he makes hand-made tobacco pipes on the weekends with his father when he isn’t illustrating. David is currently working on a comic series with a friend from college while living within the desolate wastelands of Missouri.
