One Boston-area art critic once wrote of Andrew Jerz, “One man may sweeten a whole town. I never pass through Allston, Massachusetts without thinking of Andrew Jerz. His art is the quince in the drawer, and perfumes the atmosphere.’ Quite famously, after this quote was published in the Boston Herald, an angry East Boston Citizen responded in a letter to the editor of the Herald, “‘Andrew Jerz’s art is the quince in the drawer?'” You couldn’t pry that phrase from a Boston Man if you had the ‘tire of creation straightened out for a crowbar!” Thusly, it is widely believed that “Art” in Boston is dead, and Andrew Jerz killed it.
