“Now that I had finished, the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled my heart.” –Mary Shelley, Frankenstein

The downside to seeking out the mysteries of the universe? Sometimes, you find exactly what you were looking for. After ignoring his crew's advice, Captain Walton is alone on an alien world. And he is not alone in the dark…

Writer Blake Armstrong and artist Jason Strutz put a sci-fi twist on the Walton/Frankenstein relationship with “Isolation.” The digital download includes extras you can ONLY get online, including the short comic “Frankenmorning,” by Susan and Jeff bridges, with art by Penelope Gaylord; and “Shelley Portrait” by Trevor Hanowski.

Blake Armstrong is a writer and director that currently lives in Chicago, IL. His feature length screenplays have earned him some attention and awards from festivals like Slam Dance. “Isolation through Exploration” was his first story formatted for a graphic novel. When he isn’t writing, he works on set in the camera and lighting departments for various movies and television shows like Warner Brothers’ “Man of Steel” and National Geographic’s “Wicked Tuna”. If you can’t find him on set or writing, he’s most likely backpacking through a national park or brewing a batch of Scottish style ale.

Jason Strutz is an illustrator and artist for the comic series The Order of Dagonet, written by Jeremy Whitley. He lives with his wife/editor in Carrboro, NC. See more of his work at StrutzIllustration.com
