City of Walls, created by writer Shaun Noel & artist Abede Lovelace, is our newest addition to Red Stylo Press!
We couldn’t be more excited to have a such a quality book on our team. City of Walls is a gritty, coming-of-age tale of urban sci-fi, set in the great walled oasis that is Kowloon City. Originally a military base, Kowloon is a completely internalized city. A rough and sometimes dangerous place where Triad word is law and the only way for most people to survive is by joining up. We learn about life in Kowloon through the eyes and experiences of Ariana, Daniel and Jin, three children who meet and become friends in this extreme and often surreal environment. And even though they come from different backgrounds, soon they must come together in common purpose: escape!
Series writer, Shaun Noel, is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo’s English and Psychology programs, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He says his major influences include Brian Michael Bendis, Bill Willingham, and Geoff Johns. Shaun is also currently a contributing editor to Yaroos.com, where he reviews comics and writes comic book related articles. Shaun’s comic short for Shakespeare Shaken, “The Play Is the Thing,” is an RSM bestseller!
Co-creator and artist, Abede Lovelace, is a professional storyteller and also an NYC native. He has been working in comics for 10 years. His first big step was becoming an assistant for the great inker Mark Morales, a partnership that continues today. He has worked on various titles, both independent and mainstream, as well as in TV and film as a storyboard artist.
Both Shaun and Abede are contributors to Red Stylo Media’s forthcoming collection, Unfashioned Creatures, A Frankenstein Anthologyy.
