Female characters in comics have historically been limited to sexy good girls or sexy bad girls, with little between. Readers are ready for change! Join us for a casual meet-up setting where we discuss what goes into creating dynamic female characters that break the mold, and to mingle with fellow storytellers to share story notes and weigh in on “strong female characters,” “fridged women,” the Bechdel test and troubleshooting storytelling stereotypes. Hosted by Enrica Jang (editor, Red Stylo Media) and featuring Sandy King (Writer/Film Producer, Storm King Productions), Cat Staggs (artist, Orphan Black), Jennie Wood (Writer, FLUTTER), and Brigid Alverson (CBR).
