Love is a Losing Game, 8 of 24 from THE 27 CLUB

Love is a gamble, and some people are destined for a losing hand.  In prohibition-era Manhattan, a downtrodden boy becomes infatuated with a speak-easy siren.  He has nothing to offer but his love…and a bottle.

Writer/Artist Ashley Lanni serves up a cocktail of young love and inevitable heartbreak in “Love is a Losing Game,” inspired by The 27 Club’s own torch singer, Amy Winehouse.

For The 27 Club: A Comic Anthology, a rocking crew of fifty-four comic artists and writers were challenged to take their favorite song or member of the 27 Club and use their music as inspiration for new and original comic stories and vignettes. This collection is a rocking tribute to a select few of these lost stars and their shining, tragic legacy.
