27, A Comic Anthology

NOMINATED for “Best Anthology” in the 2016 HARVEY AWARDS!

Stars burn hot, bright and then go out forever, but their light shines on for ages after. Members of the “27 Club” reached musical stardom early in life and died too young– specifically, the tender age of 27. Some of the club’s more famous members include Jim Morrison (The Doors), Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain (Nirvana), and Amy Winehouse. A rocking crew of comic artists and writers were challenged to take their favorite song or member of the 27 Club and use their music as inspiration for new and original comic stories and vignettes. Co-published with ACTION LAB: Danger Zone; available in comic shops and in our online store!!

Brian Jones: Gone But Still Rockin’ Hard!

Brian Jones has the unfortunate honor of being overshadowed by his fellow rock-n-rollers, both in life and death.  After founding the Rolling Stones, Jones gradually lost influence to Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, finally leaving the band shortly before his death on...

Happy 4th from Jimi and Red Stylo!

August 18, 1969--the final hours of The Woodstock Music and Arts Fair.  Rain delays had caused "Three Days of Peace and Music"to bleed into the early morning of the fourth day.  The crowd was tired, dirty, and had dwindled from an estimated 400,000 to 30,000 die-hard...

“Heck” of a Doc about 27 Club’s Kurt Cobain

The idea of the 27 Club--a legend that young rock-stars are more likely to die at age 27--originated decades ago, but many credit the suicide of Nirvana front-man Kurt Cobain with bringing the concept into mainstream consciousness.  Cobain has become the poster-child...

5 questions about 27, A Comic Anthology, with Pop Culture Uncovered

PopCultureUncovered asked had five burning questions about our newest book, which is currently on Kickstarter to raise money for the 27, a Comic Anthology: ROCK HARD Edition. Things got really interesting when Aitch asked me to name a living artist who might compare to anyone in the club now. I may have accidentally/on purpose threw a little burn at Miley Cyrus…
